PENGENDALIAN KUALITAS PRODUK KAIN GREY DENGAN METODE FAULT TREE ANALYSIS DAN FAILURE MODE AND EFFECT ANALYSIS (Studi Kasus PT. Iskandar Indah Printing Textile)

ABSTRACT

PT. Iskandar Indah Printing Surakarta is one of the many textile companies that
process yarn raw materials into raw fabric (grey). In its production activities, the company
always experiences problems related to the quality of the products produced by the lack of
attention in machine maintenance and supervision in the production process. This is what
makes the company continue to evaluate and find the source of the cause of the product.
The FTA method is a graphical method that identifies risks to a basic level that affect
the main failure. Meanwhile, the FMEA method is a systematic method for identifying the
causes of failure by detecting opportunities, and their effects in order to reduce or eliminate
the chances of a failure and seek improvements in order to achieve customer satisfaction. The
purpose of this method is to find the root cause of the emergence of a product and provide
proposals for improvement in order to improve the performance and quality of the resulting
product effectively and efficiently.
The results of research and data processing there are 5 types of gray fabric defects,
namely Thickness, Rare, Netting, Double Pick and Entry Edge Defects. Control efforts that can
be made to improve the quality of production, namely Human Negligence, can be overcome by
the company must be more selective in accepting new employees and pay more attention to
SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) as a work implementation. Poor Quality is overcome by
selecting and taking raw materials the company must be more selective. High Intensity of Use
is carried out by repairing and replacing new machine components by the maintenance
department. In addition, the lack of machine maintenance is carried out by servicing the
machine regularly.
