ABSTRACK
This study aims to analyze the effect of Islamic work ethic (IWE) on job
satisfaction and organizational commitment of education officer at Raden Mas Said
State Islamic University Surakarta by intrinsic motivation as an intervening variable.
This type of research is quantitative. Samples were collected by simple random
sampling method. A total of 150 questionnaires related to research variables were
analyzed using IBS SPSS Statistics 22 software shows a positive and significant results
between Islamic work ethics (IWE) and job satisfaction and organizational commitment
through the mediation of intrinsic motivation.
The results of this study indicate that there was no direct significant effect
between Islamic work ethics (IWE) and job satisfaction or organizational commitment.
Rather, intrinsic motivation plays a partial and completely in mediating the relationship
between Islamic work ethics and job satisfaction and also between Islamic work ethics
(IWE) and organizational commitment.
The conclusion of this study is the understanding and application of Islamic work
ethic values have an impact on the level of intrinsic motivation in a person. The higher
the intrinsic motivation, the more satisfied with the job and the more loyal to the
organization.
