"Analisis Komparatif Kinerja Keuangan Bank Konvensional Dan Bank Syariah Di Indonesia Sebelum Dan Saat Pandemi Covid-19"
ABSTRACT
The study aims to analyze the financial performance of conventional banks
and Islamic banks before and during the Covid-19 pandemic. This analysis uses the
CAMEL method with CAR, NPL/NPF, NIM/NOM, ROA and LDR/FDR ratios. This
type of research is quantitative with a comparative approach. This study compares
the financial performances of banks. The data used are quarterly reports of
conventional banks and Islamic banks before Covid-19 pandemic (March, June,
September, December 2019 and March 2020) and the quarter after the Covid-19
pandemic was announced in Indonesia (June, September, December 2020 and
March, June 2021). The study used 10 conventional banks and 10 Islamic banks
with the largest assets by 2020.the statistical methods used are Descriptive
Statistical Test, Paired Sample T-Test & Wilcoxon Test and Mann-Whitney Test.
The results showed that there was difference to the financial performance
of conventional banks as measured using the CAMEL method in the period before
and during the Covid-19 pandemic. While in Islamic banks, not all financial
performance measured using CAMEL experienced a difference. Only CAR ratios
were different, while NPF, NOM, ROA and FDR ratios did not make any difference
in the period before the pandemic. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the ratio of CAR,
NPL/NPF and LDR/FDR ratios of conventional banks and Islamic banks did not
make a difference. While the NIM/NOM and ROA ratios are different. In addition,
it was obtained that during the Covid-19 pandemic,the ratio of CAR and NPF of
Islamic banks was better than conventional banks. Conventional banks are superior
to Islamic banks based on NIM, ROA and LDR ratios.
