Karakteristik CEO Dan Kinerja Keuangan Bank Umum Syariah

ABSTRACT

This research aims to determine the variables of CEO gender, CEO
education, CEO tenure, and CEO age on financial performance at Sharia
Commercial Banks in Indonesia. This research analyzes sharia banking registered
with the Financial Services Authority in 2013 – 2020.
This study uses a quantitative approach. The type of data used is secondary,
namely data obtained from annual reports published on the official website of each
bank in the period 2013 - 2020. The population in this study is all Islamic
commercial banks registered with the OJK in 2013 - 2020. The sampling technique
used was purposive sampling, resulting in a final sample of 9 banks. The analysis
technique used is panel data regression analysis using the EViews 12 program.
The results of this research show that the CEO gender variable has no effect
on the financial performance of Sharia Commercial Banks, CEO education has no
effect on the financial performance of Sharia Commercial Banks, CEO tenure has
no effect on the financial performance of Sharia Commercial Banks, and CEO age
has no effect on the financial performance of Commercial Banks. Sharia in
