FEBI News| July 24, 2024, the “International Dissemination of Community Service” activity was held as part of the 4th International Conference on Islamic Economics (ICIEs) organized by FEBI UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta. This dissemination was attended not only by lecturers from FEBI UIN Surakarta but also by FEBI UIN Surakarta students.
Total of 9 FEBI students participated in the dissemination, including: 3 students from the Sharia Accounting program (AKS), namely; Anggi Ariska Putri, Iksan Nurudin, and Ihwan Mujahid; 3 students from the Sharia Banking program (PBS) namely; Mario Febrian Saputra, Irna Mahirta and Fauzan Ali Muzaki; 1 student from the Sharia Business Management program (MBS) namely Akbar Eko Marjanto; and 2 students from the Sharia Economics program (ES) namely; Dyah Saputri and Khoirun Imam.
The dissemination of the results of community social activities as a form of student dedication and the PKM (Community Service Program) collaboration between FEBI lecturers and students became more meaningful, because his dissemination was not only guided by Chair (Usnan, MEI) but also reviewed by Sheikh Muhammad Rateb (from Gaza, Palestine). In his review, Sheikh Rateb expressed extraordinary appreciation for the students who initiated social activities and the student participation in the PKM collaboration with FEBI UIN Surakarta lecturers.
Among the 9 disseminated titles, several PKM results received special notes from Sheikh Rateb: First, The social community activity of students themed “Sharing Kindness Through Qurban Charity.” Sheikh Rateb suggested that it would be even better if the sacrificial animals were purchased from donors contributing to the program, thus enhancing its impact. Second, For the student social activity on Waste Banks titled “Waste Bank: Fostering Ecological and Economic Sustainability, & Waste Bank Establishment Support in Islamic Boarding School,” Sheikh Rateb recommended improving the waste bank process to utilize garbage that can provide higher economic value. Additionally, he advised establishing collaborations with international organizations potentially supporting waste management programs (waste banks).
