UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta Rebranding for Global Impact, Welcomes Curtin University Professor

FEBI News| Sukoharjo (5/9/2024) UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta recently hosted an international public lecture titled “Global Vision, Local Action: Rebranding UIN Raden Mas Said for International Impact” on September 5th, 2024. The event, held at the university’s Theatre Room, welcomed Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mien Teah from Curtin University, Western Australia, as the keynote speaker. The discussion was attended by university leaders, faculty deans, and students.

Rector Prof. Dr. Toto Suharto highlighted UIN’s vision of rebranding through “glocalization,” emphasizing the importance of connecting local efforts with a global perspective. He expressed the university’s dedication to advancing research and fostering international collaboration, aligning UIN’s strategy with global academic trends. The event was aimed at strengthening UIN’s global presence and academic reputation.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mien Teah focused on the importance of international reputation for academic institutions, particularly in creating stronger ties between universities and industries. She pointed out that innovation, driven by research and collaboration, plays a key role in enhancing a university’s global standing. This lecture was a follow-up to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between UIN and Curtin University, further solidifying their partnership in academic and research collaboration.
